Accounting

Real books, not a spreadsheet with a logo.

The big trade platforms send you to QuickBooks for the books and a payroll provider for pay. ATLAS keeps a true double-entry ledger inside the same system that runs your jobs.

Capabilities

Accounting built in

One journal that payroll, invoicing, and procurement all write to — and statements drawn from the same data as your jobs.

  • True double-entry journal

Every transaction posts balanced debits and credits with automatic account coding. The ledger is the system of record — not a report bolted onto job data.

  • Full statement set

Profit & loss, balance sheet (assets = liabilities + equity, asserted in the numbers), and cash flow by the indirect method — reconciling to the actual change in cash.

  • Payroll posts itself

Payroll runs, approved PTO, and commissions post wages to the ledger automatically, matched by type and employee name. Labor cost lands in the books the day you run payroll.

  • Purchasing posts too

Vendor invoices and vendor-invoice payments flow through the same journal. The procure-to-pay loop and the books are the same system.

  • Reconcile the bank

Match bank transactions against the ledger with a review queue, or import a CSV manually. (Live bank connections via Plaid are built but need your credentials — the pipe is real, just dry.)

  • Refunds stay honest

Invoice refunds create reversing entries. Nothing is deleted to make the numbers work — the audit trail reads like an audit trail.

Said plainly

Built in doesn't mean “fire your accountant”

One caveat, stated up front.

ATLAS gives your accountant real, posted books to review — not a reconstruction from job exports. The period-close lock is designed but not live in this version, so have your accountant review statements before they're filed or presented as final. That's the honest version of “accounting built in”: the ledger is real, and the review step is yours. See invoicing.

Your crew, your jobs, your books. One system.
