Payroll

Payroll that starts from approved hours.

Approved timesheets become pay with enforced overtime and salaried rules — then post themselves to your books. That's the whole workflow.

Capabilities

What payroll does

A payroll engine for the hours you already approved — connected to the ledger, not exported to it.

  • Starts from approved time

Payroll runs begin with approved timesheets — not a CSV import, not a retyped spreadsheet. Unapproved hours can't slip into a run.

  • Hourly and salaried rules

Hourly workers earn hours × rate with 1.5× overtime. Salaried workers accrue annual ÷ 365 × days. The rules are enforced, not suggested.

  • Posted to the ledger automatically

Every payroll run posts wages to the double-entry ledger and the P&L — matched by type and employee name. No month-end scramble to reconstruct labor cost.

  • Pay rules respect roles and locations

Who can run payroll, for which locations, and who approves it — governed by role hierarchy and location assignments. Payroll data stays with the people allowed to see it.

  • PTO flows into pay automatically

Approved time off posts paid entries at the regular rate with no overtime, in its own column. Cancel a PTO request and the entry is removed and the balance restored. Unpaid time off stays unpaid — unlimited, no balance.

  • Commissions on customer payment

Commission earnings are created when the customer actually pays — with a manager override one level up, tracked separately and surfaced inside payroll.

Honest scope

What payroll does not do

Two things we deliberately left out — so you can plan around them instead of discovering them later.

No direct deposit

ATLAS calculates pay and posts it to the ledger. Moving the money stays with your bank — export the run and pay your crew the way you already do.

No tax filing

Payroll tax calculations and filings stay with your accountant or tax process. What ATLAS gives them is real, posted labor data to file from — not a reconstruction. See the accounting underneath.
